The barrel-and-pan profile gives a roof the depth and shadow of individually laid tiles, but because it arrives as a formed sheet there are far fewer joints, installation is much quicker, and none of the slipping or breakage that comes with loose clay and concrete tiles.
Metcopol is formed on our own line at Idu, cut to your measured slope so water runs from ridge to eaves without crossing a lap. The high-gloss coating sheds dirt well and holds its colour through the harmattan and the rains.
It is a strong choice where the building calls for a traditional, substantial-looking roof but the structure was never designed to carry the weight of real tiles.
